ABS ECU not visible

Hi all,

I have a 2010/11 R51 2.5cdi EU spec.

Had a problem occur in which the abs doesn't work and the typical various dash lights are constantly on . But, the problem is that the Nissan dealer diagnostics cant find the ABS ECU … like its just not there … so that’s the first problem. I sent the ECU for testing and it is ok. Have checked wiring harness etc also seems ok.

Any ideas ? I will check and check again the wiring but thought I’d throw this out just in case someone has had experience of the same fault.

If it's set up similar to US vehicles, the ABS should be able to communicate on the K-line (DLC pin 7) as well as the regular CANbus lines. Try an ABS-capable shop scanner instead of the Consult3+ used by the dealer, C3+ doesn't read the K-line and may show the ABS as absent when it simply can't communicate on CAN.
