Sylvania Head Light Restoration Kit

Postby TooMuchControl » Sat Sep 14, 2024 3:47 am

I watched some reviews on line, prior to purchasing.

I have the Spyder "Black" Halogen headlights on MY05 since 2017. They needed a cleaning.

The newer headlight restore kits seem to be following the Sylvania kit. It includes a de-oxidizing spray bottle, cutting compound, and a UV clear-coat bottle, that is applied, in steps.

The headlights have been restored to new condition. The clear coat, is what makes it work.

I will try to upload a photo later, unfortunately don't have what they looked like just prior to doing this, but it's night and day.

The real tell will be how the coating holds up over the up coming Winter and into spring, and will update at that time.

Certainly you can tell the clarity from the headlights are now restored. Visible on the forward vehicles in traffic, the LED cut-off/horizon line, is now visible perfectly on vehicles.

Thank you for the review.
Headlights and their clarity are a topic that comes up again and again.

Yeah, I need to get some appropriate clear coat (I have some clear coat actually, ... maybe that would work i have to check). But i did the headlights without the clear code. They looks like 80% maybe 90% on a good date. And then the sun got to them again in about a year so its back on the to do list.

I uploaded this in another thread.

I will certainly see what the winter and salt does to that clear coat / final film layer.
