LOL not down hill!!! I have the stock 16....I mostly average 400 miles but this last time I ran with the fuel light on and the DTE flashing ----- finally got to the pump and filled it, took a tad over 20 gallons.myriad46 wrote:430?!?!?!
Is it down hill both ways? What size tires do you have on there?
Well good to know someone else is getting as much ...Is that 22MPG by what the dash says? (mine is never been that high) or amount of miles traveled and divided by gallons in tank.Captain caveman wrote:When I do my trips to northern Wis I run Premium fuel and I get 22mpg. I just use the cruse control at 70mph. Yes I loose time but I same on fuel.
"Stock" as in 265/75/16? Or something smaller? Keep in mind that if you have smaller than the 265/75/16, your readings will not be correct. The speedo & CPU are calibrated to 265/75/16s, which means it will look like you are getting better than what you actually are, if you are running smaller tires.twinblown wrote: I have the stock 16....I mostly average 400 miles but this last time I ran with the fuel light on and the DTE flashing ----- finally got to the pump and filled it, took a tad over 20 gallons.
I'm using the Dash computer to do my math. I did check it by the guage. and it did come out to be the same. I'm running 265/65/17r = out to be the same as a 265/70/16r. Im turning less tire mass the bigger rim acts like a flywheel and helps keep revolutions going. Its going to suck more when I change my tires to 265/70/17r.twinblown wrote:Well good to know someone else is getting as much ...Is that 22MPG by what the dash says? Sometimes, though not often, I wish I lived at 100' elevation somewhere in the flatlands. Best mpg I've seen is 22 (once) & a few times at 21+.

If you look at the "stock" 265/75/16 & compare that to your 245/75/16, it's a diameter of 31+ vs. 30+. So, your 245 is turning more in a mile than a 265, making it appear you are going farther than you really are.twinblown wrote:That is strange and maybe I am not to good at this but why would all the results change when only the width increased?
