TIRES again, help.

Hi,

My 08 path LE is nearly on 30,000 & my tires are looking choppy.
I want to put a bigger tire but without lifting etc.
Any idea how big I can go with the 17" stock wheels?
I been to a few tire places, Michelin Cross terrain 275/65/17 & Bridgestone dueler were the ones they had.
I also like the the look of the bfg AT, but can't find any in my size. Any ideas or recommendations, very confused.
First of all will 275/65/17 fit a stock LE & what is the biggest I can go.
I do mostly highway driving with a few sandy trails once in awhile here in the UAE.
Is Michelin CT a good tire ? how do they stack up against the BFG AT?

Howdy, the 275-65-17 will fit, I was going to use the same size but went with 265-65-17 due to warranty reasons being a new ride.. I really like the Yokohama Geolander A/T that I use now. the 275-65 will be the best bet for stock rims. 25k miles to go and i will get the 275-65-17 Yokohamas.

I really like the BF Goodrich AT's. I've had BF G's on all my 4x4's, both mud and AT, and love them both... except the junk "passenger" tires that comes with the Pathfinders.

Go to http://www.tirerack.com/index.jsp and you'll find results from an assortment of brands and models from tests. The BF G AT rate fairly high along with a Goodyear AT model.

Thanks for the info,

Do they actually make a bfg AT in a 275/65/17 ? the tire places don't seem to have any here in the UAE.
Thats why I could only find the michelin cross terrains & the bridgestone dueler.
Unless I can go even bigger at 285/65/17 ?? but I'm sure that will rub ...

Went ahead and chose the Michelin cross terrain's and very happy I did, what fat comfy ride. 275/65/17 very nice indeed

No Bfg's all terrain in 17's here in Dubai, I looked at every tire establishment, before I got bored.
The Bridgestone Duler were also in the running but again no AT/revos's around, only the HT or HL versions so I opted for the Michelins.

I have to say, what a difference it makes to the ride! night & day!

The same week that I bought my new '06 LE, I traded the General Grabbers for Michelin CT's. Love the handling and ride comfort. Got 22K on them now and couldn't be more pleased with their performance (I don't off-road at all). My only gripe about them is the max 35 psi. Would like to have a more solid tire rated at 38 psi minimum, but that's a minor complaint. BTW, I bought 265/265/17's (original-issue size for my '06).
