hello, im new here...anywayz, dunno anything about tires. i have an 08 LE pathfinder, and planning on installing a bfgoodrich all terrain. the one i have is p265/65/17 bfgoodrich radial long trail. but when i look at the size/specs for the bfgoodrich all terrain, they have LT265??? dunno what that means. is bfgoodrich all terrain advisable for a pathfinder? whats the maximum psi (hope its 35)? im not doing any offroad driving, i just love the way the tire looks. plus i heard they're great on snow. my other option would be yokohamas geolander at-s.

I have a Se with 17" wheels. I just bought BFG A/T ko in LT256/70r17E

You will be find with the LT but I would go with load range C.

Generally:

P265/65-17 = passenger
LT265/65-17 = light truck

LT's work just as well as the P tires, actually often times better than the P, just depends on what you are looking for.

The LT tire will be heavier than a passenger (P) tire, but also more durable (more plys/layers). If you go to bfgoodrich's site, they have a table you can pull up that lists all the different sizes, load ranges, etc. of each tire they mfr.

The BFG AT does do well in snow, but in my experience, only when at least 50% or more of the tread is left. They also don't do well in water, from numerous hair raising situations I've been in on the freeway. I know people love these tires to death, so I'm going against the grain.

You may want to consider the Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armors. They are very good in snow and rain, Excellent off-road, and very quiet and comfortable on the highway.

I have had mine for the past 2 years, and I have taken them on black diamond trails to highway drives from San Diego to Seattle, and to the Rocky Mountains in Colorado.

hey, thanx for all d replies... to mr. caveman...you said you have 265/70/17, if i choose this size, the tire size increases right? so would i need a lift up? i know bfgoodrich all terrain doesnt have 265/65/17.

BFG makes a P265/65r17 but the $$ of the tire jumps up big time. I have a stock R51 with the 265/70r17, There is no problem with this size since a 265/75r16 is the basicly the same as a 265/70r17, the 265/70r17 is a touch taller and wider but only by mm. I would jump up to the 265/70r17 to fix the speedo calibration and to give a tuffer look,
