anyways, those pics have been MOST helpful. they definetly show a difference between the US models and basically all the other countries (that got cooler accessories).

there's gotta be some kind of cover out there (or at least a reason why Nissan didn't include one). the previous model had a cover - wtf? why not this one....

the indentations we have in the cargo area of our models are definetely for a cover (note: the Murano cover doesn't fit and the Armada is too wide).

guess, i'll have to stick to the old blanket for a while longer

I found it!!! Only it's $351.16...OUCH!!! Go to enissanparts.com and put in 2005 Nissan Pathfinder. Then from the left, go to the following:

Rear body and floor > Interior trim > Tonneau cover > Desert or Graphite. If you click on Desert, there is a View Illustration button you can click on and it will show you the illustration of it.

For $350+, I really don't think that it's worth it.

Is that a solid piece? Or is it retractable? I've been meaning to pop the side caps off to see what could be rigged to fit. Even something cheesy like a retractable window blind, with cutouts to fit around the driver's side curves, could be possible.

New Member... After reading the previous posts I do agree that $360.00 + is very steep for a retractable cargo cover. Id just like to share some info and lessons with everyone.

My dealer researched these covers for me as well and we decided to experiment and order one from the xterra parts listing. It was $62.88 including tax. I picked it up and went to install it and dicovered that I needed the quarter trim pocket mounts that bolt into the side trim under the removable caps / covers to install the cover. They could not locate these mounting pockets and I had to abandon the experiment. If I could locate these mounts somewhere I would be back in business. The Xterra cover would definately fit the Pathfinder after the end rod where the handle is was trimmed by 1 to 1 1/2 inches and very minor trimming to the vinyl fabric at the end only to conform to the slight difference in the interior trim contours.

So, if anyone has any idea how / where to locate these quarter trim side pocket mounts, this would be a much less expensive alternative.

I tried to locate an Xterra in my local salvage yards but had no luck.

That price is workable for testing purposes. Certainly a lot better than the close to $400 price mentioned above. Could you do me a favor and provide some measurements of the width & the length? Also, if you could post a photo of what the sides look like (the ones that actually mount to the vehicle), that would be of great help. Preferably something fairly high in resolution if you can. Even a photo of the end next to one of the side caps so I can get a better sense of scale would help. If that Xterra cover will fit the width, and be long enough in length, I'm positive something can be rigged to allow mounting.

How about the sides of the end piece (where the handle should be)-are they a large enough shape to fit into the existing slots at the rear? As scratch-prone as the interior plastic is, I have a hard time visualizing what material is sticking out to insert into the side slots. If the side mounts bolt into the space under the caps, then one can certainly get this part from a dealer. Probably costs as much as the cover itself, but surely they have to have access to all parts for each vehicle. I wonder if anyone has access to the Xterra parts page that shows all the parts involved?

There are a number of auto wreckers on the web that have searchable inventories. Either that or you could email a few. First things first though. If you can post a few photos, it will help get the old brain chugging along.

Unfortunately I have already returned the cover to the dealership for a refund since I couldnt locate the mounts. I didnt think of taking any pics and learned of this site 1 day after the fact. I did however forget to put the instruction sheet back in the box and have made 3 pdf's from the diagrams within. Figure 1 is very helpful in that it shows a close up of the "Quarter Trim Pocket" that I was in need of.

This is the second visit to the site and havent read anywhere how to post pics yet. Any suggestions?

DAMN! I drove my Xterra cargo cover back to the dealer AFTER I traded it in... crap crap crap!

OK, rant done. I store some pretty expensive stuff in my truck, and havent due to lack of a cargo cover. IF it's a factory pce, I don't mind spending the $460, but $70 sounded waaaay better. I wouldnt mind making some sort of bracket myself?

I know we kind of narrowed it down to the quarter trim pocket, but I think I'd have to see one installed on the X to see if it would even fit on the PF. It would be ridiculous if one couldn't order that part from Nissan. Cargo covers are notoriously beaten to death, so I can't imagine why a parts department wouldn't have those on hand.

Thanks for the confirmation that the length of the cover will fit in the PF.

No, but I plan on revisiting the whole thing in the spring or summer (whenever it gets warm) now that I have access to an X. I believe one of the other threads ended with the discovery that the side mounts that are needed for the Pathfinder are actually a part of the X's side panels. In other words, it's all one piece on the X. I haven't had the chance to confirm this yet.
