How does one break a caliper?
my 06 pathy has 27,000 miles on it. so my grand mother came up to visit me and i let her drive my truck for 2 day's and she split my front right caliper and stuck the back left caliper shut. i got it fixed yesterday but i still cant believe what she did i drive from northern california to Long Beach on the 5 and have done stops from 100 and have never had a problem with the breaks so i am wondering how in the hell did she do it?
o and 1 more question when u drive the truck in 60-75 degrees there is this buzzing wine that comes from the front window at 100-mph. i think its a weather striping problem but i dont want to screw with it i took into the dealer and they told me i was driving it to hard so i shot back with it says 140 on the speedo so im going to at least shoot for 120. so any suggestions on how to fix it?

She a car driver? When my girlfriend's Jetta broke down I had to share the Path with her and I did notice that car drivers will accelerate towards a red light and then just jam on the brakes like gas still cost a $1.50/gal and we get 30mpg. I'm up to 45k on the original pads and rotors but have had to shave the rotors every 20k.
Sounds like it's time to yank gradma's license...
I can understand wearing out a pad fron the Ebrake being left on. But since the Parking Brake is actually a drum within the rotor I don't quite understand how it could lead to a caliper faliure.
