power socket removal............

having a very difficult time removing power socket in dash in order to replace broken cover

has anyone else done this, and how was it accomplished without breaking anything

pull the fuse.
reach in with a couple picks or whatever and release the two black plastic tabs. Push them outward from the middle while pulling the whole cover/socket asmb. out. release cover from tube, swap, reverse.

thanks, that's what i thought, still trying, even pushing out on socket assy from the back of the panel it's mounted in, still won't budge

If you pull the shifter bezel (I presume it's the front sockets), and pocket trim (they just pull out) you can gain access to the sides/back of the sockets. Might help....
