Why can't anyone agree on which tire to buy?

My work computer won't show pictures, so what did you end up buying?

Here are my new tires from last friday. I can just say that I'm very very happy with them.

I tried them:
- Dry on highway about 150km/h and they are not more noisier then winter tyres Good Year Ultra Grip. At least they are not noisier because you will hear only 2.5 126kW engine

- Wet is very nice. I tried them like I tried GY and they have much better grip.
- I already tried Snow + mud + water. Mixed snow because it is 10°C outside and snow is very wet. This is my first AT tire and also first 4x4 vehicle. My college was with Subaru Legacy which is 10cm lifted and he said that tires are very nice in that kind of snow

At the end. Every day before I go to work I look my new tires and get a big smile

Tires are General Grabber AT (new model which replace AT2) 265/65/17.

The Michelin LTX AT2 isn't really super cheap, but seems to fit the bill pretty well. I've been happy with mine so far.

I wore out a set of Kumho Road Venture APT KL51 in 20,000 miles. They were rotated every 5k & properly inflated. Had to replace the OE Generals at 23,000....wondering if anybody gets better wear out of their tires than that or is this typical.

Ive got the original General Grabbers AW on my 05 path that have 66k on them and still have about 5-6k left in them, Wifes car so it is highway only all the time. Going with the General HTS's if they ever get off backorder. GOing to put Generals AT on my truck when it is time. VERY pleased with General tires.

I'm not finding the General Grabber AT anywhere online... the AT2's, yes, but the AT's, no.

With that said, I'm giving the AT2's a look. 265/70R17 115S
$139.00 (ea.) at TireRack.
$159.00 (ea.) at DiscountTire.
Approx how many miles are people getting out of these? On the General website it says "60,000 Mile Limited Treadwear WARRANTY- Excludes LT Sizes"
Any hit to MPG's? I don't want to buy them because they're inexpensive but have it be a false economy because I lose .5 mpg or worse.

Love the look of the Goodyear DuraTrac or the SilentArmor, but then we're lookin at 200 bucks a piece.

Wow, I'm a dope... I've got the 16" rims. Coulda sworn those 5 spokes wer 17's.

265/70/16's on there now.

Well then, 265/75/16 it is. Lots to choose from, although keep in mind a few of the more aggressive & expensive ones will be LT rated.
