We have an '08 SE 4x4 with faux carbon fiber trim, which looks out of place in a white Pathfinder with beige interior. Our center console looks like this, but not wood:



Wife would like to replace just the carbon fiber trim with faux wood trim. We would just be doing the areas that are carbon fiber (cupholder area of the center console and a few other areas I can't remember right now).

My questions:
1. Is there a place you can just get those few pieces? Most kits online are for 32+ pieces, most of which would go to waste. I'm going for the LE wood look.

2. Do you have to remove the carbon fiber trim first to replace it with wood, or does it just form a thin layer over the current finish?

OT, just ordered the Airlift 1000 bags and a 48" Hi-Jack, plan to do some exploring in Southern Utah this summer.

Do you have pictures of your set up? I have the wood trim, and I'm not a fan of it.

There is only one piece of wood trim that you get from the factory. The other pieces you see in the 32+ piece kits would be adding wood to places that the LE does not have them.

Depends on which type you buy. The aftermarket kits are usually just stick on types that go on top of what you currently have. Personally, I think it looks cheap because it doesn't fit flush and it obvious that you just put a plastic sticker on top. I would try an get the LE version either by buying it from Nissan or swapping with a member of this forum (volvite?). I don't think it's too hard to take out.

In this thread Carl took his console apart. The '08s are redesigned so they differ from the 05-07's, but I imagine they are similar as far as dis-assembly is concerned. http://www.thenissanpath.com/viewtopic.php?t=65

I'll take a picture tonight and post. It's my wife's daily driver so I'll have to wait until later. If the CF is easy to remove, maybe I'll trade 'ya!

why don't you try Hydro Graphics it looks factory and its easy to do.

I will give the graphics company a look. I'm starting to wonder if the CF trim is even stock, or if a previous owner (bought the PF used a year ago) added it themselves. It might be easy to pry it off and clean it up.

I think I'll take it to the dealer to see if they have any opinions.

once i get my pathfinder from the shop I will dip my trim pieces with this type of water grapics. The kit alone is 99.99 bucks

There is a stock CF trim that comes on the SE's. The last two pictures in the first post of this thread http://www.thenissanpath.com/viewtopic. ... highlight= show it a little bit. Does yours look different?

I'm after either the wood or the CF is it works out for anyone......Just let me know. Preferably, i'd like the window switch trim, console pieces (with cubby lid).
