Buzzing/grinding sound only at 1700 and 2700 rpm
I recently got an oil change and changed the air filter. Since then I've been hearing a weird sound every time I hit 1700 and 2700 rpm. I have to keep it there for the sound to occur. I do not hear the sound any time else. Today when I put gas in my car the fuel gauge was slow to respond. I had to drive a little bit for the gauge to go up. It still isn't accurate. I put $25 worth and I only got about 55 miles according to the dte gauge. Any ideas what the problem may be and how serious it is. I'm suppose to be driving up to Boston next week and I'd hate to cancel it because of a car issue

fuel guage sending units have been a problem for many
Nissan has implemented an extended warranty campaign for the sending units

some aftermarket oil filters can make noise (do a forum search on "oil filter noise")
the buzzing/grinding sound may be the dreaded timing chain tensioner issue
is your truck an '05?
BTW: be careful to not over-oil your K&N air filter. excess oil can foul your MAF sensor & intake tract

I've always had meineke do my oil changes and this is the first time I've heard any kind of noise right after. So I'm thinking it might have something to do with the air filter. I'm hoping its not the timing chain because I'm not sure if I still covered under warranty. I have an 06 with about a little over 58k miles

If it's still there, I believe you still have time to replace the chain/tensioner under warranty. They've placed an extended warranty on this issue.
