With all the talk on transmissions getting toasted with the coolant leaking into the ATF fluid, has anyone installed a transmission temp gauge in their Pathfinder?
I have a good place for one beside my VDC since I dont have 4wd.
Are they hard to install?
Transmission Temp Gauge / Hard to install ?

They don't look to be too difficult. Here is a link that has a PDF on a B&M temp sensor.

Thanks volvite...I saw that one and saw one where they drilled a hole through the side of the transmission drain pan...I guess I am like others..and would want to catch the temp on its return to the tranny.volvite wrote:They don't look to be too difficult. I think I am correct on this, but the return line to the trans if the one on the drivers side bottom of the radiator? I done the bypass last week so mine isnt going through the radiator

I have not done the cooling bypass on mine, however I think if you splice into your cooling line it would give you a good reading of what the temp is prior to or returning from the transmission cooler. You will just have decide which temp you want to read.
For me I'd be looking to read the temp as it comes out of the transmission cooler.
