The cold air kit doesnt seem to make the difference that I hoped to. I know that there are all kinds of variable conditions at play when runnin' down the drag strip. The stuff that I DO know, was in my favor though. At least the temps and humidity were better than the last time I went.
Last night, Feb 6, 2008.
10pm 45deg F 41% humidity
11pm 45deg 38%
Last time, on Dec 5, 2007.
10pm 52deg F 67% humidity
11pm 50deg 71%
Okay folks, here are my best results from last night. These are also the last two runs I made of the evening...
At 10:47pm a 15.32 @ 89.09
At 10:55pm a 15.28 @ 89.52
Dec 5th, my best two times were...
At 10:56pm a 15.30 @ 88.90
At 10:59pm a 15.31 @ 89.20
The end results just arent too impressive. I expected more out of the proclaimed 14.27 hp gain... to the rear wheels!
So, with my best OEM air cleaner times vs. best cold air intake kit times...
.02 second gain, 1/4 mile ET.
.32 second gain, 1/4 mile mph.
I hope that the cold air kit would really work well with better exhaust. My exhaust is still stock. Maybe freeing up the air intake doesnt do much good when the same, restrictive exhuast is being used. BUT, then again, I am not the one that claims a 14.27 hp gain to a stock Nissan!!
