4 wheel drive system

Postby ccjas » Fri Aug 26, 2011 9:28 am

Hello, I have a Pathfinder that has an "auto" setting in the tranfer case. I put it in auto setting after the first snowfall and it pretty much stays there all winter. I am looking an another Pathfinder for my wife but it doesn't have this auto setting. Does anyone know if it is ok to drive for extended periods of time in the 4WD high setting?

drive in 2wd until you think you need 4wd. when you think you will need 4wd (i.e. snow, dirt, sand, etc) switch it on.

driving in 4wd on dry pavement is not good.
