05-09 pathy trans compatibility

Postby pxa34 » Sat Aug 25, 2012 7:34 am

Hi,

I am planning on placing an 09 pathy auto 5 spd trans into my 05 model. Any problems I am likely to run into? Anything in particular to watch out for? Thanks for your feedback.

Keep in mind that not all Nissan RE5 AT's are the same. There are several different valve bodies used over the years, trim level and models. Also keep in mind there is the ALL-MODE trans used in the LE's versus the "regular" AT's. I believe the Off-road R51's used a different part number, as well. There are definitely different part numbers used in the 05 R51's compared to the 09's. This may result in issues with the control unit. I would do some homework and make sure that it'll work. Maybe check with a good trans shop or have a salvage yard look up what transmissions are compatable.
