AIV Delete..now limp mode.. HELP .. please? lol

Postby saeia » Sat Sep 29, 2012 10:40 am

Hey guys.
Got the truck for nothing.. liked my dads.. thought it would be cool to have one too.. Kinda impulsed it at scrap price. wouldnt run right had a NASTY vaccuum leak... the kids before me stole the cats welded pipe in left the AIV line open.. t.. AIV box "pancake" was rusted completely out..
so i deleted box and case it plugged up all the lines nice .. now the ecu is in limp mode and throwing injector code and crankshaft position.. reset ecu she starts and revs FINE untill you fall back under 2.5k and its back in limp mode.. I cant see it being injectors if she seems to be running fine before the ecu slaps her in limp mode right?
Thanks in advance!!

IIRC, Injector code doesn't specifically mean the fuel injectors are bad, but that the engine is running real rich. Check your fuel pressure. To help us out, what year and engine?

The fuel pressure seems normalish as far as i can test without a gauge

You can't test fuel pressure without a fuel pressure gauge.
