How to remove center console from '95 Pathfinder SE?

Postby r3dplanet » Tue Oct 09, 2012 1:52 pm

Hi.

I have a 1995 Pathfinder with automatic transmission and 4wd. I need to remove the center armrest/console/whatever you call it. The Clymer manual hardly has a word to say about it.

I feel a little dumb but I can't quite figure out how to pull it. Any suggestions?

Been a long time since I removed one! Raise the armrest and look inside at the bottom (you may have to remove any "junk" you have in there). There should be a small rubber mat (if it's still there) that you can pull out of the way and there should be a couple of screws there that mount the back of the console to the floor pan. IIRC, there's a cover plate that needs to be popped out on the top/front of the console to access two screws. Raise the parking brake lever all the way and lift the back of the console up and back to remove. If there is a power socket or switches in the console, they will need to be unplugged, obviously, before you can completely remove it.
