Be careful of what information you are spreading. Your statement is incorrect. There are Pathy specific sliders out there that require drilling. Otherwise there is no support past the frame rail (which is tucked way inside of the body). And ANY slider that simply bolt to the existing studs (there are no pre-drilled holes) that the stock side steps mount on I would immediately return or throw in the trash. Those studs are only in the seam of the sheet metal of the vehicle and are not connected to anything more substantial.Greybrick wrote:If you have supersliders specific for the PF then there won't be any drilling involved. The sliders bolt on using the same predrilled holes for the PF side step installations.
nope, sorry, the instructions (and pictures posted here) indicate that you drill holes in the body seam that runs below the doors. if you didnt have this support point, the rails would cantilever into your body upon impact, thereby damaging the sheet metal they are supposed to be protecting.Greybrick wrote:If you have supersliders specific for the PF then there won't be any drilling involved. again... to those who have actually installed the RR supersliders, what did you do to protect the sheet metal from rusting after you drilled your holes?

The only other option I am aware of is shrockworks. These are similar to the supersliders, and probably a good option as well. The reasons I went with supersliders are they were a little less expensive, and I think they have a sleeker look than the shrockworks.NVSteve wrote: What made you decide on the supersliders over the other options?
still want to do it.....unfortunately normus (the big white dog) tore his ACL. as i haven't had my pet insurance long enough (12mo), i get to foot the whole bill (its a pants-load). be a bit b4 i get to add anything onto my truck.NVSteve wrote:Looks good! Thanks for the mini report w/pictures also. What made you decide on the supersliders over the other options? I know a few people have mentioned getting sliders, but I'm not sure they've made up their minds yet (GuinnessJim for one).
