I've had good luck with the OE Generals as well, both for lack of vibration and good wear, wish I could get another set..
Were you in the area, I would have sold you mine last year for $300! That's the trade-in allowance Discount Tire gave me on a set of four toward the Mich C/T's.
BTW, I guess I failed to update the post you quoted. After a couple of weeks on the Mich's, I went back to D/T. I know the manager there, and he convinced Michelin to replace all four with a new set with different DOT numbers. They road-force balanced those, and I'm totally pleased with them. That said, they're basically all-season highway tires with the weaker sidewall typical of the breed. In hindsight, I'm not sure I gained much for the $600 difference over the OE Generals.
