For those who can't hear it:

1. Turn off the stereo
2. Get your hearing checked
3. Roll down the window (even if you are deaf, the sharp reverberation through the floorboard will let you know)
4. Go to a busy parking lot, park & wait for a large number of people milling about outside, then start it up and drive. Check to see how many heads turn in your direction when you hit the 12.5 (seems like 15 on mine).

EDIT: It kicks in exactly between the 10 and 15mph tick marks, so 12.5 is right on the money.

Thanks for the info! I thought it might be normal since the behavior was consistent, but I wanted to make sure. Glad to know what it is.

Specifically set out several times to see if there is any noise and my Pathy doesn't make a peep.

I have a 2006 pathfinder se and it has the same sound. I thought it might be something with the transmission. Well,at least I feel better if its the abs.

so ironic...I just posted about this...Im a newbie to this forum and just bought an 06 Pathfinder. This noise has puzzled me since I drove it off the lot. Nice to know its not something I need to worry about.

I went into the dealer this week and they said the same thing was the exhaust and the heat sheild, it just need to have it adjusted, but gona have it done soon when i come back from my road trip. For my it also happens between 1900-2000 rpms and then does away...weird i know lol
