Looking for Bose 28170 EA500 "driver"

Postby Lebesd » Thu Jun 26, 2014 6:25 pm

Hello all -

Recently purchased a 2008 Pathfinder SE and very happy with it except for the non working Bose subwoofer.

After ohming everything out I have power & a consistent 4 ohms up to the wire harness. After that, sorry not sure what to call this, there is a small little metal box on rear of the assembly where the harness connects, p/n 255490 aka the "driver".

Does any one have this part they are looking to sell? Is it possible to just attached a new sub and amp? It seems there are some peculiarities with bose and not sure if that is possible.

Dan

The Bose system uses 1-ohm impedance speakers and amps for said speakers; most aftermarket speakers and amps are 4-ohm, so the short answer is "no," they won't work. Nissan only sells the subwoofer as an assembly, but I was able to get speakers when mine was blown out directly from Bose. You may want to see if you can get the driver separately from them.
