Power window help
So I had a sticky power window button so I took apart the master switch on the drivers door and cleaned it. Plugged it in to test and everything worked good so I finished putting it back together and reinstalled. Now the only thing that works is the rear windows. The controls for the front windows are completely dead and the passenger switch doesn't work either. The drivers side has LED's lit and the door lock works fine. Any ideas on why the two front windows are dead at both switches? Is there a reset procedure for these? I did check for fuses but the 50amp under the hood looks good, and the other windows are working so I don't think it's that. I'm going back out to test a few things but thought maybe someone had gotten into this before.

Yeah I figured I would need one. Someone here had luck cleaning theirs so I thought I would give it a try. No idea why it just completely crapped out though. Everything worked fine before, just a sticky switch for the passenger window. Now none of the front switches work on either side. There must be something in the drivers switch cancelling out the passenger switch. Oh well I'll order one and move on.
Decided to try the cheap option and ordered this switch for $100 delivered:

Delivered today and it looks identical to the OEM in every way. I didn't pull it apart and look at the board but the plastic, buttons, operation is all fine. This fixed my window issue and after a little work resetting the anti-pinch function all is back to normal. Much better than the $215 plus shipping for OEM. Or the $280 my dealer wanted and didn't have one in stock anyway.
EDIT: Switch went back into anti-pinch mode the next day. It works fine if you disconnect/reconnect, but as soon as you cycle the ignition the auto-up does not work properly. I called the seller and they were helpful and stated that some of these have been problematic on Pathfinders. They're sending me an OEM switch this time.

I usually agree, particularly on Nissan/Honda/Toyota. I figured it was worth a try on something like this, particularly since the OEM switch didn't last that long. The quality of the aftermarket switch (assembly, material, etc) seemed as good as OEM but I would say they just don't have the electronics quite figured out.eieio wrote:glad it's fixed!
