You can easily push them by hand & I'm far from being a bodybuilder. It only takes an inch or so of movement to tell. Never tried more than that as I'm sure that's where the strength would come into play.smj999smj wrote:If you can push a 200 psi strut back in by hand, it IS bad or you have some really strong hands!
thanksBrmadsenad wrote:The stronger struts don't seem to help much with slamming. Once you get to the last couple inches, the angle that the struts are at prevent them from doing much. But because you have to pay a little more attention to close it, you are less likely to slam it.
I'd say the benefit as to "slamming" of 200#+ struts over stock is minimal to non-existent.
So do I. Closing the rear hatch on the Xterra sounds and feels like closing one of the doors. Closing the rear hatch on the Pathfinder sounds like it's causing damage. Really poor design.eieio wrote: i pay a lot of attention to closing it because i HATE that SLAM!![]()

Not really. Just better in the opening and overall support of the hatch. I've just gotten in the habit of holding the hatch open maybe an inch or two before letting it go to latch closed, minimizing the grand slam as much as I can.eieio wrote:any difference in regard to the "GRAND SLAM"'?psinsyd wrote:Ended up picking these up and have been happy with them a few weeks in now.
