Whos going to be the first with a M226 swap lol
It's quite a bit of an upgrade as far as ring gear size, but that's about it, nothing really for 4x4ing/flexing etc.

One guy tried it, but never came to.

Is it for an automatic locking one?
How does that work with a rear wheel drive vehicle?

Its an auto locker.

They only lock when torque is applied. So if you coast through a turn it acts like an open differential. If you gas it, it locks up and kicks your tailend around. I'd imagine in a long wheelbase vehicle like the R51 it wouldn't be too bad on-road...

but LesterB can answer best since he is running a rear auto locker.

LSD should be for the rear sounds safer.
We will have to wait and see what Lokka has to offer

I think my statement overstates the negative of auto lockers. Hundreds if not thousands of people drive with rear auto lockers in their DDs.

LSDs tend to be less noticeable on the road but also less helpful in some offroad situations.

The most sought after is the selectable locker because it's all the benefits of an open diff on road, and with the press of a button, a full locker.

There is hours of reading on the internet about the locker vs lsd and auto vs selectable and front vs rear. Lots of information worth reading before spending your hard earned money.

After driving my Pathy with a front autolocker selectable rear locker is probably the least bang for your buck
Unless its something like an e locker

That's exactly what a selectable locker is. It's on as a locker when you want it, it's off when you don't. The downside is they tend to be pricey.

Auto lockers are great because of the price and your don't have to turn them on and off. Plus they tend to relatively easy diy installs.

The R51's problem is we don't really have a choice on the rear traction aid. It's either A machined Powertrax or Quaife QDF10L lsd.

Nice!

I emailed Eaton but was told they didn't have any plans for the R200. Time to make some more calls.

Bringing up old threads on lockers and gearing.
Any updates on the rear?

I haven't pursued the ARB anymore because of the c-clip issue. I've emailed ARB a little but they are pretty sure there isn't a way to install the c-clip. I had a line on a Quaife, but money is a little tighter than before because the wife and I decided to buy a house.

How about anyone else? Any more word from Aussie or Lokka?

How much was it in the group buy? If another was created I would be first in line.

The 2006 front works for the 2007 year I am assuming. What is the price that you get with the group buy?
