It seems counterproductive to reinstall an OEM product after it has shown itself to fail after a few miles. As I needed a tire rotation anyway I had a look at these factory installed front and rear pads which are coming up to 26,000 miles and from measurement are probably good for another 25,000 miles.
Maybe your dealership misinformed you about needing new pads Tutty, wouldn't be the first time a dealership invented 'needed work'. Where is the brake fluid line in relation to the Max and Min lines on your brake system reservoir when the system is cold and have you had any brake fluid added to the system since new.
Tailgating or following too close to the forward vehicle requires more use of brakes. If your brake pads are shot you could try modifying your driving style by leaving more distance from the next vehicle and coasting to a stop more if you want to improve pad life for the next set.
