50 inch light bar mount

Went over to a buddys house for some dinner, (which turned into a lot more than that) lol, but anyways after a few drinking games I take him to show him some of the upgrades I had done to the pathy he pulls out this 50 inch curved light bar from inside his garage and says "Ill sell you this one" My wife of course wanted it right away but I'm on the fence on how much I like them above the windshield. Anyways, a couple of us mocked it up there and I thought it didn't look too bad. So, long story short I paid 100$ for the light bar and wiring harness. He had it on a truck that he sold apparently. Don't know what brand the bar is but he told me it was a middle of the road brand. He had a paid a couple hundred for it. Here is the result.

Before I spent money

63$ and they were at my house a couple days later.
It took me about 1.5 hours on the install and the directions were pretty straight forward.

nice! I think in aus the only company that make them brackets is bullzeye. I rather the look of these brackets.

Turns out I had a huge problem with the wiring... I wired this up and went through the door jam. Well here in Illinois its been raining non stop for about a week, well The Pathy got flooded basically the day after I did this. Water was running down the power wire into the car. I tok it out for now and Im taking another look at what I can do. I think drilling a hole in the roof and running through there will be the ticket. Silicone it up and I should be good to go. Thoughts???

If you have to balls to do it then go for it. I would be too afraid of drilling in the roof. I would try running along side of the windshield. You might be able to stick in between the windshield weather stripping and the pillar.

Wow love the light bar but man I don't know if I could drill my roof either!? But I guess if it's the only way then go for it. How do the light bar clamps stay on? Do they screw into the sides of the truck?

Where did you buy the light bar on the push bar? I have the same push bar in SS and I may add some lights. Are they bright?

Clamps do screw in to the side yes...

20 inch lightbar came from amazon. Its really bright, but condensation is already inside of it. Gonna dry it out and use some silicone on it to fix the issue

I mean, people add cab lights to their trucks all the time and just seal them up, no big deal if its done right

Right, a lot of people do drill into the roof. I guess I wouldn't trust myself in making sure it was sealed good enough to last a few years. I would be afraid after a few hot and cold seasons that the seal would fail and allow water in and causing permanent damage/corrosion. It does look much cleaner and professional if done properly. I would love to have this on my Path but in all reality I don't need them as I don't do much off-roading or any night driving in the wilderness. It would mainly be for cosmetic appeal.

If you're going to drill into the truck, why not get a snorkel, then run the wiring down the back of the snorkel.

snorkel's look badass, and you get the induction noise, ok i just like snorkels
