Rogue Select - question about average cost of CVT drain/fill
My mom has a 2015 Nissan Rogue Select and it almost at 50k miles on the original CVT fluid. I've seen a number of different videos and read A LOT of horror stories about improper filling and using aftermarket CVT fluid. So I've decided to take it to the dealer and have them do the procedure on it and have them use their fluid. Looking at the videos it looks pretty straightforward, but I've heard of dealers charging $200-$300 to do this. I'm going to call tomorrow to ask around, but if anyone has any experience having gone the dealer route to this this, it would be appreciated if you could tell me the cost and whatever other details pertaining to this.

Ok did some looking around, apparently it uses NS-3 oil as per the user manual - "NISSAN recommends using Genuine NISSAN CVT Fluid NS-3 ONLY in NISSAN CVTs. Do not mix with other fluids."
Found out it's about $20 a quart. Ouch.
Anyone know who actually makes the fluid? If I recall, Valvoline makes their differential fluid or gear oil and Nissan just slaps their name on the bottle. Does anyone know if "Idemitsu" is their supplier? If so, 5 quarts of that is about $50.

Aisin, a company which has supplied numerous OE parts to Nissan, has a CVT fluid that is specifically intended for Nissan/Infiniti NS-3 applications. You can get it at Rockauto for $7.07 per quart plus shipping:

So just updating this thread. The Aisin fluid quieted down the transmission a bit after changing the fluid. It was blue. Old fluid was really dark, reminded me of dirty motor oil. Anyhow, it was easier than an oil change. A 19mm socket on the pan on drivers side and a measuring bucket underneath so I know how much came out to put in. It was a drain and fill. Took about 5 quarts.
Bucket I used was similar to the one below, except it was 4 quarts. When it got to the 4 quart line, I simply put my thumb over the hole and my father poured out the old fluid into a larger container and I placed the empty bucket underneath again.
