Yes you can shift to 4x4 in the garage. First place the trans in (N) then turn the switch for 4x4 hi then place the trans in what gear (R) (D) what ever, let the PF roll for a foot or two this will allow any gears to mesh. It will also work for 4x4Low.
For the PF i just put on a basic tire. But for my Avalanche I just ordered a set of BFG A/T KO2 this is a new production line A/T for them Cant get them till nov 1.
