2) Alternatively, does anyone know the equivalent diameter and thread pitch specs so I can go to the local hardware store and buy a bolt to use instead of the fill plug!

Shoulda Googled around more. I found it. One has to take the passenger wheel off and then remove the black plastic wheel well cover. The sensor is fairly easy to see then.
