I'd think a little air in the bags (like 5 psi) would help you as much as the Timbren and allow you to get in and out. And give you the option of bumping it up later. I can tell you that even empty (no psi, cap on) the air bags make a difference and reduce bottoming/body roll. I'd rather have this t...

I'm thinking I'm going to start checking the positive terminal with a wrench quarterly. "Mechanically feeble" seems to be a design feature.

Um...why would you need to deflate the air bags? Wouldn't increased ride height help you get in and out of a steep angle? If you're concerned about adjusting ride height, then you can always use a yard stick to make sure the rear is leveled with the air pressure, rather than what most people here do...

They can. Shocks (especially cheap shocks) can get more binding issues as they get older. Damage to the gland/seal on the shaft, loss of lubrication internally due to failure, etc. Remember these are el cheapo orifice-damped units that come OEM. Swapping them for Bilsteins will be a night and day di...

Hmmmm. I mostly find VDC pretty transparent. Last year in Saudi my government vehicle was a 2010 Ford Expedition. It regularly dialed back the throttle...a lot. Go over a speedbump and accelerate on the other side? Lose the throttle on the other side for 1-3 seconds. It felt more like an ignition ki...

It's on the list of things to do now. (Well, it was already there after last summer.) This is unfortunately my second Nissan with lame terminal issues.

Yeah, um, have to get the truck started to test under load, and I'm not walking it to Walmart :-P But with 12.6V I should have gotten something out of it. This wasn't a dying battery, it was *poof* nothing. Anyway, it wasn't the battery. It was the terminal again. Sanded to bright metal, cinched dow...

2005 with 82K miles. Battery is less than a year old (replaced after deployment) and a slightly higher rated CCA model. No signs of a "dying" battery either last night or just before...but who knows. No clicking from the starter, no attempt to turn over, just went dark. Found my multimeter...

Truck died this morning...

Luckily I live next to a hotel and caught a cab to work. Tried to start it this morning and it immediately and completely died electrically. There's a tiny bit of power going to the seat belt light but that's it. No interior lights or anything. I managed to reset whatever it was by disconnecting and...

Eh...that could be the other half of your problem. The gear grinding noise is indeed "normal." But some of the tires these trucks come with...yikes. Mine had the OEM BF Goodrich's when I got it with plenty of tread left on them. They wouldn't stop on anything either and ABS was often worki...

My front ABS will make a noise that sounds like what you're describing. I fixed it by moving to San Diego and not having to brake hard regularly in 4WD on the snow 8)

Seems to be the going rate, although I seem to remember paying $60.

What NVSteve said is correct, there's no reason within the bounds of engineering why this would be a spring thing. They'll settle down, not up. It's something else. From working on my suspension compared to other things, and the general feel of it I have the suspicion there's just shitloads of bindi...
