Today, I did the hatch strut modification. I was tired of that hatch taking its sweet time to open, and being too low when fully open (I hit it with my head sometimes).
Our Xterra buddies have a choice of 150lbs or 175lbs (good with a ladder bolted on tailgate) struts from McMaster Carr.
How much of a pain was it to replace all hoses? Did you use aftermarket, OEM or Silicon? Since you said “all hoses”, that means the heater hoses too? and vacuum hoses (if any). Fuel hoses?
Instead of relying on longer arms, a longer shock could provide more travel.
