Re: Restrictive air filter?

I'm surprised that a new, Denso air filter would make that much difference in drivability compared to your previous filter, but I guess anything's possible? If your Honda has an idle air volume relearn procedure, you could try installing the Denso filter and then do the procedure to see if the perfo...

Re: Dead instrument cluster + P0500 + P0462

Check your fuses and fusible links. It's possible the cluster, itself, has gone bad (which often is due to cracked or broken solder joints). There should be some trouble diagnostic steps, or at least wiring diagrams, located in the factory service manual, which you can access via the "service manual...

Re: Front Sway Bar / Bushing Question

It would make some sense that it would turn easier in old bushings as the old bushings are likely worn. The bar should turn, but should be stiff. I usually clean off the old rubber off of the sway bar with a Scotch pad and use lithium grease or silicone grease to lube where the inside of the bushing...

Re: Need help with towing

I think your TPMS system has a failing TPMS sensor; most likely, the battery is weak. The TPMS system will turn on the warning light when tire pressures get too low, usually around 26 or 27 PSI. High pressures will not affect the system. It's always best to set your tire pressures when they are cold...

Re: 2 types of AC compressors?

I have an 06 LE w/ rear HVAC and it takes the 92600-EA200, as does my 08 SE w/ rear HVAC. In the US, most of our Pathfinders come with rear HVAC, so the rarity is to find one that doesn't have it. I can't help you much with the European spec R51; I know there are similarities to the US models, but t...

Re: How far do I go with a timing chain replacement

You don't have to remove the starter motor, so I wouldn't bother with that. If the power steering pump is working and not leaking, I'd leave that, as well. The minimum you need is listed in the TSB, which is essentially the upper chains, tensioner faces for the upper chain tensioners, grey RTV seala...

Re: 2 types of AC compressors?

The part # 92600-EB02A isn't listed in the Nissan catalog nor any reference to "RHET3." There are a number of part supercessions for the compressors used in the R51 Pathfinder, but from what I see, the two choices are dependent on whether you have the VQ40DE engine or the VK56DE. If you go to Rockau...

Yeah, clockspring failures are pretty common on the R51/D40/WD40, unfortunately.

Re: GSP struts?

They're made in North America, so they may be okay. If it's my vehicle, I usually go with KYB, the OE manufacturer of the factory part, or Moog.

Re: Very Last Warranty Service Appointment!

Possible cause of front end vibration outside of a bad tire issue could be a bad U-joint on the front propeller shaft, assuming it's 4WD. The front shaft constantly rotates while driving regardless if it's in 2WD or 4WD. Assuming the vent isn't clogged on the foglamps, the other possible cause is th...

Re: New morimoto frontier lights to fit 09 pathfinder?

They wouldn't fit a 2008-2012 Pathfinder. 2005-2008 Frontier and 2005-2007 Pathfinder headlights are the same. In 2008 through 2012, the nose of the Pathfinder was extended 3-inches, which gave it a steeper rake in the headlights, and grille. In 2009, the Frontier headlamps and grille changed, but t...

Re: Gear Shift Sticks

I had a similar issue on my 2008. It turned out to be the micro-switch in the shifter assembly. When you move the shifter into "PARK," it pushed a little lever on the switch which allows the shift interlock to receive voltage and release with the brake pedal released. I had to remove the switch and ...
