erratic behavior on start up

Postby martyf250 » Fri Dec 12, 2014 7:41 am

hello

recently i started up my 05 pathfinder and what will happen is the lights (battery, 4WD, VDC, etc will flash on the dash or stay on and the idle will erratically rev and drop. I turn the car on and off a couple of times and it fixes itself. Anyone see this issue?

Had this happen when I had a loose battery clamp on my old Honda. Battery was going dead.

check especially the negative cable clamp on the battery post
sometimes the clamp will be loose, & pivot on the post even with the clamp nut tightened
i'd also charge & load test the battery

Have you had the EGI relay recall performed? If not, I would have that done, first. If you did, then I would look at the charging system, as suggested above.
