The Nissan Path

Ok so this seems to be fairly common on R51 Pathfinder's and Nissan Frontiers rust in the two rain (gutters) on either side of the roof! I was looking at my 2012 today and wow there it was rust in the gutters! Anyway what's the best to use here some factory paint or paint the gutters with bed liner or something?

I still haven't had to touch it up or add further coats, so I'd say pretty well. The black color has faded a tiny bit, but so has every other black plastic on the exterior.
