Can you use armada rear springs to get lift? This may have been asked before but i could not find it. Would like to run 285 size tires. Have 265 on it now but the stock rims look like they would not be wide enough to stop the side walls from bulging way out? Just trying to get the facts before i start to lift it.

BUMP? Knowbody knows if i can swap the rear springs out of a 4wd Armada and get any lift?

From the looks of it they use the same spring, so I guess yes would be the asnwer to your question, but if its the same then Im not sure if it will give you any lift. Hope this helps.

My stock wheels are 7", which is within spec for a 265. A 285 shows a minimum of 7.5", although there are people on this board who are running 285s on stock wheels without any problems. Biggest problem with a 285 is rubbing, especially the front mud flaps and frame. You can also fit 285s without a lift.

the rubbing of the mud flaps can be dealt with by removing them. the rubbing of the frame is more the cause of the back space of the wheel. i guess what i am looking for is how can i get 2.5 to 3 inches of lift on the thing without it riding like crap. I have to please the CEO of the house ( the wife ).

it can be done fairly inexpensive. Heres a link to my truck. I have aftermarket rims on but they were on stock wheels. I did have to remove the mud flaps and cut some plastic in the wheel well. The truck has 285s on it and I added a PRG mini lift to the front and rear. You can do the mini lift with basic knowledge and tools from the garage. Nothing to it really

Well my lift is on back order till 1st part of april. When it dose show up i will put it on and post pics.

what lift did you go with?

Daystar has a spacer lift for it. The only problem with it is it is on backorder for a few more weeks
