Just purchased a 2007 Pathy LE .... black exterior .... black leather interior ..... 130 000 kilometers.

Had it for alittle over a week and love it!!!! My last 2 vehicles were minivans, can't wait to add a few accessories to customize it a bit.

The Pathy will be my daily driver for awhile and also tow my fishing boat.

The original rad had not leaked yet. I decided to replace the stock rad with an aftermarket rad (Spectra Premium cu2807) instead of doing the bypass. Hope I will be okay with that set up? Or should I do the bypass as well?

Thats a tough one. We don't have any data here that says aftermarket rads are any better or worse than the OE. I suppose this transmission cooler danger is not unique to Nissans, every auto trans vehicle I've worked on in the past 10yrs or so has this setup.

Its your call. I think many here would lean to doing the bypass regardless of what radiator you are running. This is because we already have another cooler in the cooling loop, and this makes the in-rad cooler redundant. So why take a chance if you don't have to, right?

Like Terry said, we don't have much data on aftermarket radiators failing. However lots of aftermarket componets meet or exceed OEM requirements and I think you would be just fine to leave the cooler hooked up. However do what's best for your peace of mind.

I'm still thinking about the bypass, but since I have the new rad I figure I have some time.

Any possible issues with shifting in cold Canadian winters after the bypass?
