I swore I've read that same article a couple years ago. Looks like they edited it with some additional info and changed the date. News must be slow.

I saw a V8 R51 for $3500 in North Carolina on Facebook Marketplace a couple of days ago. I think it was near Raleigh? It looked in pretty good shape as far as the pictures.

Thought the radiator milkshake issue was solely a V6 problem, no?

As far as I know, it affects v6 and v8s. My 2008 v8 had the factory Nissan radiator with over 220k miles on it that actually survived, but the radiator part # fell under one of the ones that has known to be defective. I swapped it out quickly.

The V8s are just more rare so it never got visbility with them.
When I bought my 2008 V8 a new radiator went in within days. :)

PS: If there was a time capsule 2008 V8 , 4x4 in minto condtions I'd likely buy it despite havnet recnetly sold, (at a loss no less) a good condtion V8, 4x4)

Do you happen to know the part # that is/was problematic?

My 2008 V8 is a SMOD truck. I have the service records from Nissan themselves that the tranmission and radiator were changed at around 140K kms. I bought the truck with 230K 3 years ago and she`s currently at 270K kms.

If the repair was done 2011 or later then no worries, but Nissan's initial fixes didn't all work. IIRC there were still some SMOD-possible radiators kicking around until late 2010. So if the repair was in the 2008~2010 timeframe, check the radiator part number anyway to be safe.

new factory transmisison in a new truck!
Nice :D

On the otehr hand these are not Dodges, as long as ther is no SMOD our R51 transmisisons last a long time.
When I was my V8 4x4 it had 192,000 miles on it

These had been very hard miles as the previous owner towed a LOT and overweight too ( as evidenced by the 2 blown rear shocks and one broken rear spring when I got it)
Yet the transmission still shifted perfect.

It had original radiator (which I quickly replaced) so I figure it was still original when I got the truck.
but I also see from your buildsheet you likely run your truck hard.
Good to know the transmisison is newer and strong 8)

It was done back in 2016 and had 146k Kms on it. I bought it with 230K so figured if there was any issues, it would of failed long ago. She's just passed 270K kms, which would be 167K miles.
